Robert Karlsson wtihdraws due to eye problems

2009 U.S. OpenSweden's Robert Karlsson withdrew from the 2009 U.S. Open Friday, because of an eye infection, which causes no depth perception in his left eye, according to the U.S. Golf Association.
The alternate who will take his place is Andrew Svoboda, who competed in sectional qualifying on June 8 in Purchase, N.Y. Svoboda shot rounds of 70-69 at Century Country Club and Old Oaks Country Club to earn the first alternate position.
Svoboda will take a spot in the 7:44 a.m. group off the 10th tee on Thursday, joining Henrik Stenson and Steve Stricker.
