US Kids Golf Tournament Set to Begin


U.S. Kids Golf is proud to announce that the 2003 World Championship will be held in Williamsburg, Virginia from July 30 to August 2. Seven hundred boys and girls, ages 12 and under, from all fifty states and throughout the world, will compete for individual and team honors.
This years tournament will include three days of competitive play in each age group. The tentative schedule begins with a skills competition followed by the opening ceremonies on July 30. Competitive rounds begin July 31st and end August 2nd, with the closing ceremonies held at 8 pm.
The event is hosted by a collaborative effort of the Williamsburg Foundation (Golden Horseshoe Resort) primary host, the Kingsmill Resort, and the Williamsburg National Golf Club.
State Championship tournaments will be conducted between June 23 and July 11, 2003, to select age group winners (ALL STARS) who will represent their state at the World Championship. State Champions will compete in stroke play competition for individual and team awards. The point system for the team competition has been revised so that players will earn points based on their play each day.
