March 4, 1979 ' Mickey Wright has a teen-ager on the bag ' 19-year-old Paul Azinger of Sarasota ' at the Bent Tree Classic in Sarasota. Azinger drew Wrights name out of a caddie pool and caddied four days ' one in the pro-am and three in the tournament.
March 6, 1994 ' Jay Sigel wins at the GTE West Classic in Ojai, Calif., for the first time on the Senior Tour. At the same time, he set a record for the biggest come-from-behind triumph in tour history ' 10 strokes.
March 6, 2001 ' Casey Martin wins - the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court in San Francisco upholds his right to use a cart in competition.
March 8, 1992 ' Raymond Floyd sets the record for longest period between first and last wins with his victory at Doral. He first won in the 1963 St. Petersburg Open, then again in 92 at Doral ' a gap of 28 years, 11 months and 20 days.
