Amateur Star Goldman Dead at 92


Standout golfing amateur David Spec Goldman died in his Dallas, Texas, home Thursday following a bout with a lengthy illness.
Goldman was 92, and over the duration of his career, had won more than 200 tournaments in the amateur ranks.
His first victory came at the 1927 Dallas City Championship and from there, he won many events inside the U.S. and outside the country. He was inducted into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame in 1978.
Goldman is survived by three sons and a daughter.
