Asian Tour Appears Financially Strong for 2002

RSS

The Asian PGA Tour announced that record prize money of nearly $5 million will be available for the first half of the 2002 season.

Anchored by the Johnnie Walker Classic and the Malaysian Open ' two events co-sanctioned by the European Tour ' the prize money for the first nine events alone is expected to be a full $1 million richer than that of 2000.

There is a possibility that other events will be added to the schedule for the first half of the season to contribute to what will be a superb opening stretch of tournaments for the Davidoff Tour in 2002, said the tours executive director, Ramlan Harun.
