Aussies to Limit Appearance Money

Australia will pay appearance money only to those players who have won majors or are in the World top 10, if a proposal now on the table is adopted.
The PGA Tour of Australia players met during the British Open and made the limitations. Aussie players noted that too often foreign players who are ranked lower than the Australian players are paid the appearance money.
The agreement would mean that charismatic overseas players such as Sergio Garcia or Australian stars like Adam Scott, both currently outside the top 10, would not be paid. Scott is currently a member of the European Tour and not the Australian Tour.
