Australasian Tour Loses Main Sponsor

The Australasian PGA Tour has officially lost its main sponsor, ANZ Bank, as the financial institution has exercised its right to bypass the remaining two years of an original five-year deal.
The news comes as a bit of a surprise to most, and may prove to be a major blockade for the Australasian Tour ' ANZ had contributed over $5 million towards the tour last season, with some $20 million being allocated over the past three-and-a-half years.
Tour Chief Executive Andy Laidlaw has remained positive, however, claiming that another sponsor would be found and that ANZ was still supporting several individual events during the season.
Low television ratings are generally believed to be the primary cause of the pullout.
