Bad Back Forces Begay to Withdraw From Kemper

Notah Begay III, scheduled to compete in his first event since the Masters Tournament, has withdrawn from the $3.5 million Kemper Insurance Open in Potomac, Md.

Begay has been battling back problems all year. He missed the cut in two of his first three starts and finished 32nd in the 33-man field at the Mercedes Championships.
Begay returned after taking a month and a half off at the Honda Classic in March. He played in four events over a five-week stretch, missing three cuts and tying for 56th at the Bay Hill Invitational.
David Berganio, Jr., has also withdrawn from the Kemper due to back problems. Mike Heinen and Jim Gallagher, Jr., will replace Berganio and Begay at the TPC at Avenel.
