Baddeley to join European Tour

19 year-old Australian golf sensation Aaron Baddeley has become a member of the European Tour. Baddeley paid the required 2,000 fee while in Australia for the Greg Norman Holden International.

He is now eligible to have his earnings count toward the European Tour Order of Merit. If he finishes high enough he can avoid a trip to qualifying school.
Baddeley made a splash in the golf world in 1999 by winning the Australian Open as an amateur. He defended his title in November, picking up his second national title in as many years.
Baddeley can start earning official European Tour money this week as the event is co-sanctioned by the European and Australasian tours. He will be paired for the first two rounds with Greg Norman and Michael Campbell.
