'It's a great honor for me to have him here,' said older Ballesteros. 'I feel very proud.'
Raul played in two European events in 2000 as an amateur missing both cuts. He prepared for his debut by playing in a closed event in Spain last month where he posted a top-10 finish.
Uncle Seve believes Raul has the talent necessary to play on tour but knows he will need to gain experience to succeed.
'The heat is going to be hard for him to take,' said Seve. 'These, though, are the kinds of challenges he needs at this stage. He's going to learn by making mistakes.'
Raul can receive up to seven sponsors' invitations this year. He plans to play again next week when the European Tour visits.
