Big Break 6s McPherson Claims 2nd Win

Duramed Futures TourORLANDO, Fla. -- The Big Break VI: Trump National contestant Kristy McPherson (Conway, S.C.) won the Betty Puskar FUTURES Golf Classic for her second victory this season on the Duramed FUTURES Tour.
McPherson, who will be one of 18 contestants in the sixth edition of The Big Break series that debuts on The Golf Channel Sept. 26, finished at 9-under-par 207 for a one-shot victory that vaulted her to fifth on the circuits money list. The top five players automatically earn 2007 LPGA Tour cards.
The victory places McPherson one spot behind The Big Break V champion Ashley Prange (Noblesville, Ind.) on the money list. Prange will play this week in the Safeway Classic on the LPGA Tour, an exemption she earned from her Big Break victory. The cable network will air prime-time coverage of the Safeway Classic beginning Friday at 10 p.m. ET.
In addition, the win marks a return to the top five in earnings for McPherson. The University of South Carolina product dropped five spots on the money list in June while in Los Angeles shooting The Big Break VI.
Also, fellow Big Break VI contestant Sarah Lynn Johnston (Williamston, S.C.) made a 35-foot putt for eagle on the closing hole to finish in third place, three shots behind McPherson. Its the Furman University All-Americans career-best finish.
The Big Break has been one of The Golf Channels most successful shows in the networks 11-year history. The reality series features golfers putting it all on the line for a chance to play on some of the worlds top tours, such as the LPGA Tour, Champions Tour, Nationwide Tour, European Tour and Canadian Tour.
