Amie joins an impressive field featuring LPGA standouts Annika Sorenstam, Se Ri Pak, Grace Park, Juli Inkster and more. A Futures Tour professional from Newport Beach, Calif., Amie, 28, earned The Big Break III title and the accompanying sponsors exemptions after besting Pamela Crikelair in match play during the final episode on April 26.
My life just changed completely from that moment because I was never going to stop until I reached my goal, said Amie. And now that Ive reached my goal Im going to let it take its own course and I can now move on to the next stage of my life.
The Golf Channel will take an exclusive look at Danielle's debut in a 30-minute special airing Monday, May 9 at 10 p.m. ET. Danielles Big Break! A Week on Tour will follow Amiee on and off the course as she experiences the most important week in her golf career.
'Earning this exemption is a terrific opportunity for Danielle, but theres also a lot on the line for her to perform well. Giving viewers a glimpse at what she went through during her first event, what its like playing on tour and what she learned in the process should be make for some compelling television,' said Tony Tortorici, The Golf Channels executive producer.
The Big Break III: Ladies Only was the third installment of The Golf Channels popular reality show. Each week the contestants competed in challenges designed to test their physical skills and mental toughness.
One golfer was eliminated from the show each week, until the final golfer ' Amie ' was awarded her Big Break, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete in future LPGA Tour events, including the Michelob ULTRA Open at Kingsmill and the LPGA Corning Classic, May 26-29.
