Big Break VIs McPherson to Play on LPGA Tour


The Big Break VIORLANDO, Fla. -- The Big Break VI: Trump National contestant Kristy McPherson (Conway, S.C.) finished the season fourth on the Duramed FUTURES Tour to earn exempt status on the 2007 LPGA Tour.
McPherson, who will be one of 18 competitors in the sixth edition of The Big Break series that debuts on The Golf Channel Sept. 26. at 10:00 ET, won twice this year on the circuit to earn $40,558. The University of South Carolina product earned her first title in April on the Duramed FUTURES Tour at the Jalapeno FUTURES Golf and then won again in early August at the Betty Pusker FUTURES Golf Classic. After three and a half seasons on the Tour, McPherson finished the 2006 season with six top-10 finishes, including one finish for third.
Fellow Big Break VI contestant Sarah Lynn Johnson finished 18th on the money list to earn automatic entry into the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament. The Williamston, S.C. residents season was highlighted by a two-week stretch in August when she finished tied for second followed by a tie for third.
The Big Break has been one of The Golf Channels most successful shows in the networks 11-year history. The reality series features golfers putting it all on the line for a chance to play on some of the worlds top tours, such as the LPGA Tour, Champions Tour, Nationwide Tour, European Tour and Canadian Tour.
