Big Break Winner Qualifies for Milwaukee Event

US Bank Championship in MilwaukeeBig Break I champion Justin Peters this week advanced through another PGA TOUR Monday qualifier ' his second in his last three attempts ' and will be in the field at the U.S. Bank Championship in Milwaukee.

Peters, 29, of Plantation, Fla., outperformed a cast of nine other competitors to become the winner of the first Big Break season in 2003. With its sixth season scheduled to premiere on Sept. 26, The Golf Channel reality series has become one of the networks most popular shows and has created a huge following among PGA TOUR players and recreational golfers everywhere.

By winning The Big Break I, Peters received exemptions into four tournaments on the Canadian Tour in 2004, making the cut twice. Currently, he continues to practice and compete on several mini-tours in attempt to keep his dream alive. So far this year, he hasnt finished any worse than 11th place in the seven events he has played on the Grey Goose Gateway Tour and has earned approximately $32,000. The U.S. Bank Championship will be the third PGA TOUR event in which he has played, with the list also including The Honda Classic in 2001 and this years Booz Allen Classic.
 
On the bag for Peters will be fellow Big Break I competitor, Mark Farnham, one of the more popular contestants from the show who is taking time off from his business this summer to support his fellow Big Break alum.
