Bjorn to Play in Dubai


Former champion Thomas Bjorn of Denmark will join world No. 1 Tiger Woods, defending champion Ernie Els and seven-time European No.1 Colin Montgomerie in the richest-ever Dubai Desert Classic at the Emirates Golf Club Majlis Course from March 6-9.
Bjorn, a star in Europes glorious Ryder Cup triumph at The Belfry, is the latest big name player to sign up for a tournament which will be the richest in its 14-year history.
The news that Bjorn would once again face Woods in a repeat of their famous 2001 clash at the Emirates Golf Club will undoubtedly spark even more excitment for the tournament.
We look forward to seeing him as well as fellow Ryder Cup stars Colin Montgomerie of Scotland ' the champion here in 1996 and seven-times European No.1 - Northern Irelands Darren Clarke, and former (British) Open champion Mark OMeara of the USA, said Mohammed Ali Alabbar, Vice Chairman of DUBAL and Chairman of the Dubai Desert Classic Executive Committee.
