Brooks Withdraws From Buick Classic

Mark Brooks, citing mental and physical fatigue has withdrawn from this weeks Buick Classic in Harrison, N.Y.
Brooks finished second to Retief Goosen in an 18-hole Monday playoff at this past weeks U.S. Open in Tulsa, Okla.
Following the event, Brooks was in a low-impact car collision in the parking lot of his caddies hotel.
Brooks wife and two children were in the car. No one was injured.
They (other) guys jaw dropped and he said, Oh, my gosh! Mark Brooks! Ive been out there following you, said Cynthia Brooks, Marks wife of 18 years.
After they got done with the insurance stuff, he came back to the car and asked for an autograph. Mark wasnt laughing, but the girls and I had to giggle.
Brooks signed a couple of golf balls before resuming his five-hour drive back to Fort Worth, TX.
Brooks has seven career PGA Tour victories, but none since the 1996 PGA Championship. His runner-up finish in the U.S. Open was his first top-3 finish since the 96 season. He plans to return to action at the Canon Greater Hartford Open, June 28-July 1.
