College CentralThe fourth-ranked UCLA men's golf team held a six stroke lead prior to the suspension of play in the second round of the Cleveland/Augusta State Invitational at Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Ga.
 
When play was suspended because of darkness Saturday, the Bruins held a six stroke lead with two individual scores left to be counted. UCLA was 7 under par with seniors Steve Conway and Travis Johnson left to finish their rounds. Wake Forest was in second place at 1 under par, followed by Duke at even-par and Minnesota at 1 over par. Augusta State and North Carlina Stete were tied for fifth at 2 over par.
 
In the first round, the Bruins posted a 6 under par score of 282 and were 1 under par before play was halted in the second round. Augusta State was 6 under par in the second round after posting a 296 (+8) in the first round.

Individually, the Bruins' Steve Conway was tied for the lead with Wake Forest's Bill Haas at 6 under par. Conway posted a 2 under par 70 in the first round and was 4 under par through 17 holes in the second round. Through 15 holes in the second round, Haas was 1 under par. He posted a first round 67 (-5).
 
Senior Travis Johnson was 3 under par through 33 holes after posting a 4-under par 68 in the first round. Senior John Merrick was tied for 20th at even-par 144 (74-70). Junior John Poucher was tied for 34th at 2-over-par 146 (70-76). Senior Roy Moon was tied for 76th at 9-over-par 153 (76-77).
 
Final round action begins after the second round is completed Sunday morning.
