Buckeyes Lead Duke at Liz Murphey

College CentralThe sixth-ranked Ohio State women's golf team posted an opening round score of 291 for first place following the first round of action Friday at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic in Athens, Ga. The event is being held at the par 72 University of Georgia Golf Club (6,014 yards).
 
Georgia and Duke are both tied for second place with a mark of 292, one stroke behind the Buckeyes.
 
Ohio State junior Lindsay Knowlton (Toronto, Ont./Havergal College) fired a career-best round of 69 and leads the Buckeyes in third place on the individual leaderboard. Knowlton's pervious career-low was 70, which she recorded several times, including the 2003 Liz Murphey.
 
Senior Allison Hanna (Portland, Ore./David Douglas), junior Kristen White (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) and sophomore Allison Harvie (Grass Valley, Calif./Bear River) are each tied for 18th place with scores of 74.
 
The second round continues at 9 AM Saturday.
