Buckeyes Sustain Liz Murphy Lead

College CentralThe 6th-ranked Ohio State women's golf team tallied a second-round score of 283, a season-low, to remain in first place Saturday at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic in Athens, Ga. The Buckeyes' mark of 574 is six strokes better than second-place Georgia (580). The event is being held at the par-72 University of Georgia Golf Club (6,014 yards).
 
Ohio State junior Lindsay Knowlton (Toronto, Ont./Havergal College) shot a round of 70 after she fired a career-best 69 in the first round yesterday. Knowlton moved up two places from third to a tie for first place individually with a score of 139.
 
Junior Kristen White (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) is tied for fifth (142) after she posted a season-best round of 68. Senior Allison Hanna (Portland, Ore./David Douglas) is tied for ninth (145) and sophomore Allyson Harvie (Grass Valley, Calif./Bear River) is tied for 20th place (149). Sophomore Brittany Adams (Huntington, W. Va./Cabell Midland) also had a solid effort as she fired a personal-best round of 74 and is tied for 68th place.
 
The final round continues at 9 AM Sunday.
