The prize has been raised by $800,000 over last year. This is the ninth consecutive year that the Salesmanship Club increased the purse, keeping it among the largest on the PGA Tour. The champion's share will be $1.008 million.
'By offering one of the largest purses on the PGA Tour, we are committed to attracting the top players in the world to the EDS Byron Nelson Championship,' said 2003 tournament chairman Randy Engstrom. 'This is going to be a very exciting year for the tournament. We are delighted to have EDS as our new title sponsor. They are committed to creating a championship atmosphere for our sponsors and fans. Together, we are working hard to present one of the premier events on the PGA Tour.'
