There are 110 players vying for a scant eight spots. The top eight finishers after four days of play will earn exempt status on tour in 2003. The next eight will earn conditional status. A playoff will be used to eliminate ties.
This years hopefuls include last years medallist, Howard Twitty; 11-time PGA Tour winner Andy Bean, who will turn 50 on March 13; past Champions Tour winners Bob Duval, Jim Ahern and Tom McGinnis; former baseball pitcher and celebrity tour standout Rick Rhoden; and Ed Fiori, who beat Tiger Woods in the 1996 Quad City Classic.
