Daly Sets European Tour Schedule

RSS

John Daly, who has joined the European Tour and will play that circuit concurrently with the U.S. tour, has set his foreign schedule.

Daly is in Australia to play at Royal Melbourne in the Heineken Classic, which has been sanctioned by the European Tour. He also has scheduled the Benson & Hedges International Open at The Belfry in England, Loch Lomond near Glasgow, Scotland, and will defend the title he won last year at the BMW International in Germany.

He must play in 11 European Tour tournaments to be eligible for that circuit. The four majors - Masters, U.S. Open, British Open and PGA all count as European events. So do the three World Championship of Golf events - which, combined with the other four, give him 11.

The Johnnie Walker is the only event to be tri-sanctioned. The Asian Tour and the Australian Tour sanction it, as well as the European Tour.
