Daly Signs Up for European Tour

John Daly begins his tenure as a two-tour player this week when he plays the Heineken Classic at Royal Melbourne Golf Club in Australia.
Daly, in addition to his PGA Tour membership, has joined the European Tour. He must play in 11 European Tour events, but included are the four majors, plus the three World Championship of Golf events. He must play an additional four events, one of which is the Heineken.
'For the first time, everything in my life is the way I want it,' said Daly. 'I almost did it last year, but now I have and I think it's not only a good move on my part, but also good for golf and hopefully for the European Tour.'
Daly won the BMW International in Germany last year. That win came six years after he won the British Open in 1995 with a playoff victory against Constantino Rocca.
Daly finished two shots back at the Phoenix Open last week. Royal Melbourne, where he will play next, is reputed to be one of the best in the world.
'I've been told that Royal Melbourne should be right up my alley if I'm driving straight, so I'm looking forward to the week,' he said.
