Daly Surges in World Rankings

John Daly leaped to No. 56 in the World Rankings following his runnerup finish in the Linde German Masters last week. It is the highest he has been in the standings in five years.
Daly will qualify for a spot in the Masters if he finishes in the top 50 at the end of the season. He finished the 2000 season No. 507.
Tour rookie Charles Howell III also continued his climb, tying for third in the Michelob Championship and moving from No. 65 to No. 50.
