Daly Withdraws from Final Round

LUSS, Scotland (AP) -- John Daly withdrew from the Scottish Open before the final round Sunday because of a wrist injury.
There was no immediate word on the seriousness of the injury or if it might keep the 1991 PGA champion out of the British Open, which starts Thursday at Royal St. George's. Daly won the British Open at St. Andrews in 1995.
Daly, who complained about a sore wrist earlier in the week, completed his third round Saturday with a 6-over 77.
Daly's playing partner on Saturday, Englishman David Lynn, said he thought Daly might have hurt his wrist on the 345-yard 14th hole.
'His drive plugged in the bank of a hazard. I went over and saw the ball and it was very plugged,' Lynn said Sunday. 'He told me that the last time he tried that shot, he broke a bone in his hand.'
