Dan Marino Fails to Qualify for US Open

Former Miami Dolphin quarterback Dan Marino missed out in his attempt to qualify for this year's U.S. Open.
The 39-year old fired a six-over-par 78 during local qualifying at Weston Hills Country Club near Fort Lauderdale, Fl. Only nine of the 137 player field moved on to sectional qualifying, Marino came up eight strokes short.
Marino's round consisted of two birdies, 10 pars, four bogeys and two double bogeys.
Marino retired last year after 17 years in the NFL. He plays golf regularly on the celebrity circuit.
