Dont Alter Teams Says Torrance

As the 34th Ryder Cup matches inch closer by the day, European team captain Sam Torrance continues his stance on not changing the makeup of the original teams selected last year.
You cant change it now, Torrance said of the idea that the wild card selections might be altered to allow for current players who might otherwise not have been included.
The issue of changing the teams makeup is relevant in that some players not scheduled to appear at the matches are competing at a much higher level than seven months ago, when the September 11th terrorist attacks cancelled the Ryder Cup.
One such golfer is Jose Maria Olazabal, who won the recent Buick Invitational and will enter the Masters Tournament as a favorite to take his third green jacket.
Doesnt matter to Torrance, or American Captain Curtis Strange for that matter. For them, the teams should not be altered.
Everythings done, says Torrance, so I can concentrate on my own game this year.
