Duval Leads in Japan

David Duval carded seven birdies in a 10-hole stretch en route to taking the first-round lead in the Dunlop Phoenix Open in Miyazaki, Japan.
Duval, making his first professional appearance in Japan, had eight birdies and two bogeys at Phoenix Country Club. He shot 6-under 65, one stroke lower than Hirofumi Miyase.
Its a good score on my last day in my 20s, said Duval, who turns 30 Friday.
Las Vegas neighbors Edward Fryatt and Dean Wilson each opened in 4-under 67. Wilson has won three times in Japan this year. He said he wont return next year if he earns his PGA Tour card at Q-School later this month.
