Eastwood Out Hirsch in Open Field

Bob Eastwood withdrew from the U.S. Senior Open on Wednesday because of a pulled hip muscle. Joel Hirsch will take his place.
Hirsch was an alternate for the 22nd Senior Open, held at the Salem Country Club in Peabody, Mass.
Hirsch shot 74 and won a two-way playoff in sectional qualifying in North Riverside, Ill. He is the 26th amateur in the 156-man field.
Hirsch, an insurance and real estate executive, is competing in his seventh U.S. Senior Open. He is a two-time British Senior Amateur winner (1996, 2000) and was low amateur at the 1998 Senior Open at Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles.
