Els Again Trotting Around the Globe

European TourErnie Els and defending champion Miguel Angel Jimenez lead a strong field as the European Tour completes its two week run in China with this week's BMW Asian Open in Shanghai.
Last year, Miguel Angel Jimenez fired a 5-under 67 in the final round as he fought back from a six-stroke deficit to win. The win for Jimenez was his third of four on the season.
The tournament marked the European Tour`s first official visit to mainland China. This event is co-sanctioned by both the European Tour and Davidoff Tour (Asian PGA Tour). The event is being contested on the Tomson Shanghai Pudong Golf Club in Shanghai for the second straight year.
Designed by Shunsuke Kato from Japan, the course is 7,300 yards long, quite flat with water coming into play on 13 holes. The eighth hole, stretching to 182 yards, features a bunker in the middle of the green.

The European Tour moves to Italy next week for the Telecom Italian Open, where Graeme McDowell is the defending champion.
