Englands Peter Mitchell to Retire


European TourThree-time European Tour winner Peter Mitchell has decided to retire from competitive golf following the passing of his father-in-law, Les Balchin, in July.
The 27-year tour veteran from England was competing at the Irish Open in July when he originally heard the news, and after taking several months off, hes decided to call it quits.
My priorities have now changed and I want to stay closer to my family, Mitchell told Reuters.
Mitchell was renowned on the tour for painting the names of his three children on his golf ball during tournaments. His last win came at the 98 Portuguese Open.
He plans to switch his career in golf from competitive play to coaching.
