The meetings were initiated by Nick Faldo, Seve Ballesteros, Bernhard Langer and Jose Maria Olazabal, who wanted to see proof of where the tour was allocating its funds.
The so-called Gang of Four got their wish, as the meeting ' conducted by Andersen Consulting ' was attended by 126 playing members of the tour.
While no serious problems were found, it was recommended that communication improve between the executives and members on an ongoing basis.
Commented European Tour Executive Director Ken Schofield: We wanted to move quickly to correct the perception that we did not want to cooperate with a review. We welcome the report and are anxious to build on it.
We are pleased with the findings, although not surprised by them. Without exception, I expect the recommendations to be adopted by the Board.
