European Tour Heads into Indonesia

European TourThe European Tour heads south from China and into Jakarta for this week's Enjoy Standard Chartered Indonesian Open at the Cengkareng Golf Club.
Missing some of the tour's top names due to the PGA Tour's coinciding Players Championship, the field in Jakarta is filled with many of the Asian Tour's top players.
But there's no mistaking who is the tournament's top draw.
Scotlands Colin Montgomerie, fresh off his sixth-place finish at the TCL Classic in China, will headline the field with several objectives in mind.
Monty, who needed to win last week's event to gain entry into this week's Players Championship, will again be in search for victory as he still has his eyes on making it into the Masters field.
The top 50 in the world ranking following this week's events qualifies for a spot at Augusta National. Monty is currently 54th in the world, up two spots from last week. His sixth-place effort in China was his fourth top-10 of the season, with his best finish coming at the Caltex Masters in late January where he tied for second.
Montgomerie has played in every Masters Tournament since 1992 and hopes a victory here will be enough to secure a 14th consecutive appearance at Augusta.
Joining Monty in Jakarta is Ryder Cup teammate Paul McGinley, who himself is coming off quite a remarkable performance at the TCL Classic. Perhaps spurred on by last week's celebration of St. Patrick's Day, Ireland's McGinley fired a final-round 9-under-par 63 to force a two-man playoff with Paul Casey.
McGinley eventually lost the playoff to Casey's birdie on the second extra hole, but in the process the Irishman managed to secure his second top-10 of the year.
Coincidentally, both Monty and McGinley have each been the player from the European side to sink the winning putt in each of the last two Ryder Cups.
Montgomerie and McGinley will face Asia's No. 1 player in Thailand's Thongchai Jaidee, who made history last season with his win at the Carlsberg Malaysian Open, becoming the first Thai player to win on The European Tour.
