FatherDaughter in FatherSon

The Father/Son Challenge has a new sponsor. They may now want to think about a new name.
This years event, which is now called the MBNA WorldPoints Father/Son Challenge, will feature a grandfather/grandson team for the second straight year and a father/daughter duo for the first time ever.
Gretchen Zoeller, 21, will become the first female to compete in this event, teaming up with father Fuzzy in the 36-hole scramble. Gretchen, who is a senior on the womens golf team at the College of Charleston, will be playing from the mens tees.
Arnold Palmer will once again be playing with his grandson Sam Saunders ' even though Saunders recently committed to Clemson University instead of his grandfathers alma mater, Wake Forest.
The two tied for 12th place last year.
The field consists of 18 major champions and their sons ' or grandson, or daughter.
Larry Nelson is back to defend his title, but he will be doing so with a different son with whom he championed a year ago.
Nelson teamed with son Drew to win by three strokes last year. This year, he will try and repeat with son Josh.
Other teams in the field include: Bob and David Charles; Raymond and Robert Floyd; Hale and Steve Irwin; Tom and David Kite; Bernhard and Stefan Langer; Davis and Davis IV (Dru) Love; Johnny and John II Miller; Jack and Jackie Nicklaus; Mark and Shaun OMeara; Jerry and Wesley Pate; Vijay and Qass Singh; Craig and Chris Stadler; Curtis and Tom Strange; Lee and Daniel Trevino; and Lanny and Travis Wadkins.
This is the 11th playing of what has become a hugely popular tournament for major winners. Last year, Singh, the 2004 PGA Championship winner, forced the move of the PGA Grand Slam of Golf because it originally conflicted with his appearance in this event. Others, like Love, have said this is one of the most special tournaments of each season.
Raymond Floyd and son Raymond Jr. won the first three editions of this event, from 1995-97. Bob and David Charles were champions in 1998. Jack Nicklaus teamed with son Gary to prevail in 99 in a three-hole playoff over the Floyds. The Floyds were back in the winners circle in 2000 and 2001, but this time it was Raymond and son Robert. Craig and Kevin Stadler were victorious in 2002, while Hale and Steve Irwin did so in 03.
ChampionsGate Golf Resort in Orlando will play host for the third straight year. The purse is $1 million, with the winning team splitting $200,000.
