Fem Snider Wins Michigan PGA

BOYNE FALLS, Mich.(AP) -- Stacy Snider, who turned pro only last week, made a 5-foot par putt on the final hole Wednesday to become the first woman to win the Michigan PGA's Tournament of Champions.

The 23-year-old Michigan State graduate had a 1-under 71 in the final round of the 54-hole tournament on The Monument course at Boyne Mountain Resort.
Snider, playing for the second time as a pro, finished with a 9-under 207 total, one stroke better than Scott Hebert (74) and Jack Seltzer (69).
Snider hit a wedge within 30 feet on No. 18 and two-putted for the win.
'I am the type of player that if I am playing bad, you'll know it,' said Snider, who plans to attend the LPGA's qualifying school this fall. 'When I'm playing well I don't show it.'
Snider, a former Big Ten champion and the state amateur champion in 2000, won $17,250 from the $100,000 purse.
