Final Chance For PGA Tour Hopefuls

Its the last chance for 53 players to qualify for the 2002 PGA Tour.
The Buy.Com season final takes place this week on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trails Senator Course in Prattville, Ala.
The $600,000 Buy.Com Tour Championship is the ultimate event for players in the limited field to jump into the top-15 on the money list and earn their PGA Tour cards for the upcoming season.
Last year, Spike McRoy captured the title; and with it, first place on the final money list.
Despite opening in 2-over 74, McRoy set a tournament scoring record at 16-under 272; five shots clear of his nearest opponent, Briny Baird.
McRoy, a 1991 Alabama graduate, won for the first time in his home state since his first professional victory in 92.
John Riegger was also a big winner, as he tied for third and bumped Rob McKelvey, who tied for 42nd, outside of the top 15 on the money list.
Chad Campbell and Heath Slocum are in the field. Both have earned a promotion to the PGA Tour this season due to winning three Buy.Com events in 2001.
The two are ranked first and second on the money list. Campbell leads Slocum by $28,662. First-place this week is worth $108,000.
