Nicole Perrot of Chile will square off against Whitney Welch of Las Vegas, Nev. in an 18-hole match on Saturday.
Perrot defeated highly-touted Mogan Pressel on Friday in a 6-and-5 route to reach the finals.
The win came complement of six birdies over a 13-hole stretch for Perrot, and knocked out Pressel, who at just slightly over 13 years of age, was believed to have been the youngest semifinalist ever in the championships history.
Welch outlasted Liz Janangelo of West Hartford, Conn. in a tight match that went 22 holes.
After having birdied Nos. 16 and 18 in regulation to bring the match to A/S, Janangelo fell victim to a Welch-birdie on the 22nd (No. 4) that ended play.
The final match is scheduled for 9am on Saturday. Both finalists are now exempt from qualifying for the 2001 U.S. Womens Amateur Championship at Flint Hills National Golf Club in late July.
