Florida Cuts Arizonas Lead in National Champ

The University of Florida fired a 10-under-par 278 to close the gap on the University of Arizona.
 
The Gators entered the second round of the NCAA Mens Division I National Championship trailing the Wildcats by 16 strokes, but made up ground as Arizona posted a 1-over-par 289.
 
The Wildcats, ranked seventh in the nation, still hold the lead through two rounds in Durham, N.C. At 7-under-par, Arizona is five shots clear of Florida. Wake Forest is in third place at even par following a 6-under-par 282.
 
Top-ranked Georgia is tied for fourth place with surprising Augusta State (14th in the nation). The Bulldogs shot 4-under-par 284 to move to 4-over for the tournament, while Augusta State shot even-par 288.
 
Jamie Elson, who carded a 7-under-par 65 on Thursday, leads Augusta State. However, at 6-under for the event, Elson is five shots back of Arizonas Ricky Barnes.
 
Barnes matched Elsons 65 to climb to 11-under-par with 36 holes remaining.
