Floyds Defend at Father-Son

Raymond and Robert Floyd are set to defend their title in the Office Depot Father-Son Challenge at The Ocean Golf Course in Paradise Island, Bahamas.
Sixteen teams, consisting of fathers and sons, will compete in the $860,000 two-day event. A scramble format will be played both days, beginning Saturday. The winners will split $150,000.
This is the seventh playing of the tournament, which awards the Willie Park Trophy ' named in honor of the first winner of the British Open. His son, Willie Park, Jr., later won two British Opens. The trophy isnt a statue, but actually a belt, reminiscent of that awarded to a boxing champion.
The Floyds have won this event four times. Raymond and Raymond, Jr. were victorious 1995-97. Bob and David Charles won in 1998. And Jack and Gary Nicklaus won in 1999. Gary Nicklaus will not be competing this week, as he is trying to attain his 2002 PGA Tour card at the Qualifying Tournament in West Palm Beach, Fla.
