Fortin-Simard Am of Month

University of Memphis sophomore Keven Fortin-Simard has been selected as the Southern Golf Associations National Amateur of the Month for March. Kicking off the fourth season of the award, Fortin-Simard was chosen both on the basis of his impressive individual title in the Border Olympics and for his strong year on the Memphis Tigers golf team.
Fortin-Simard, a native Canadian, set a school record for 54-hole competitions with a 13-under-par total of 213 in the Border, played at the Laredo (Tex.) Country Club. It was his second top-10 finish in March and his third medalist title this school year. He edged Baylor All-American Ryan Baca for the Border title.
Honorable mention went to Denvers James Love, who won the Ron Moore Invitational with an eye-popping, 17-under-par 199 total.
