Following on the heels of the Big Break IV debut is the premiere of Big Break IV: All Access, which offers viewers a comprehensive, behind-the-scenes look at latest chapter of the Big Break series. Big Break IV: All Access debuts Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET.
Producers tweaked the formula for the latest installment of the Big Break series, introducing a Ryder Cup-styled team format which will pit six golfers from the United States against six from Europe. While national pride and international bragging rights are on the line, each golfer is ultimately playing for his own Big Break, a chance to play on the PGA European Tour. In addition to winning the right to play on one of the worlds top professional tours, the Big Break IV champion will pick up an endorsement contract from Bridgestone Golf and $5,000 in merchandise from Dicks Sporting Goods.
Big Break IV: All Access picks up where the previous evenings Big Break episode left off, featuring an up-close-and-personal look at the phenomenon that is The Big Break IV. Highlights will include behind-the-scenes footage of the various Big Break challenges, additional on-the-spot interviews capturing contestants instant reactions to their performances, and footage of the cast and crew preparing the course.
As with previous installments, episodes of The Big Break IV will feature challenges designed to demand precise shot-making. But this time around, the contestants will compete as teams in both the Mulligan Challenges and the Immunity Challenges. The Mulligan Challenges brought out the more creative side of golf, with the winning team awarded an extra shot during the Immunity Challenge, which can be used at the teams discretion or not at all. The Immunity Challenges are true tests of the players shot control, and players from the team that comes out on top in this challenge are awarded a one-show exemption from elimination. In the Elimination Challenge, each shows pressure-filled test of golf skill, the players from losing side shed their team colors and compete as individuals, with the poorest performer going home.
The trademark of The Big Break concept showcases highly skilled golfers competing against each other in a variety of challenges that test their physical skills and mental toughness, with the ultimate winner awarded his/her Big Break, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete in select professional tournaments. Champions of previous Big Break series have won their chance to compete on some of the worlds top professional tours, such as the LPGA Tour, Nationwide Tour and Canadian Tour.
The Big Break IV: USA vs. Europe airs each Tuesday at 9 p.m. (ET), while Big Break IV: All Access airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. (ET), as part of the networks Top Shelf Wednesday lineup of premium programming.
