Gilder Oregons Top Pro Athlete

Bob Gilder, a winner of four Champions Tour titles last year, has been voted the top professional athlete from the state of Oregon.
The Corvallis, Ore., resident will receive the Harry Glickman Professional Athlete of the Year award at the Oregon Sports Awards ceremony on Jan. 19 at the Nike campus in Beaverton.
Gilder easily finished ahead of current NBA players Gary Payton of the Seattle SuperSonics and Jermaine O'Neal of the Indiana Pacers in an annual vote of 40 sportswriters and sportscasters from around the state.
'I'm very proud to receive this honor,' Gilder said. 'We have some pretty good professional athletes throughout the state of Oregon and therefore, this is pretty special for me.'
