Gogel Berganio Ink New Buick Pacts


PGA Tour players Matt Gogel and David Berganio, Jr., have signed new one-year sponsorship agreements with Buick for the 2003 season, Buick officials have announced. Both players will wear a Buick hat at all PGA Tour events and make appearances on behalf of the company.
Gogel, 31, is in his third year as a Buick touring professional. He earned his first PGA Tour victory (AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am) in 2002 and went over the million-dollar mark in yearly earnings ($1,089,482) for the first time. In 2001, he earned $729,783 while recording four top-10 finishes and seven top-25 finishes.
Berganio, 34, got off to a fast start in 2002 with a second place finish at the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic. He earned $573,151 for the year and went over the million dollar mark in career earnings ($1,509,832). In 2001, Berganio recorded six top-25 finishes, including four top-10s. He is now in his seventh year as a Buick touring pro.
