Gow Returns to Australia

Paul Gow returns this week to one of the stops on his 2000 calendar that saw him through to his best-ever season in professional golf. He returns to his homeland of Sydney, Australia, and the Canon Challenge, site of his first professional win on the Australasian Tour.
At 30 years of age, Gow's win at the Canon set off a great run of golf over the course of the year. He would go on to spend the majority of his time on the American-based Buy.Com Tour and end up winning the Hershey Open in Pennsylvania.
In addition to that, Gow would recording eight additional top-tens on the tour, and would qualify for the PGA Tour in 2001 with over $200,000 in earnings.
But the year all got started in Sydney. And Gow returns this week to the Castle Hill Country Club, to defend and play for a total purse of $550,000.
