The 58-year-old Australian was on the eighth hole Sunday of the Bank of America Championship when he became ill and was taken from the course in an ambulance to Emerson Hospital in Concord.
'He is progressing well,' Graham's wife, Maureen, said Monday by telephone from their home in Whitefish, Mont. She declined to give details of her husband's illness.
Graham won eight times on the PGA Tour and is the only Australian to have won more than one of the four major championships. He won the PGA Championship in 1979 and the US Open in 1981.
Since 1996, he has played on the Champions Tour, where he has won five tournaments.
