Granada, the reigning U.S. Girls Junior champion, fired a final-round 74 to edge out Taylor Leon, her fellow David Leadbetter Academy classmate, by four strokes at the Oceanside Country Club, in Ormand Beach, Fla.
'Im usually pretty bad when its windy and cold and rainy, said Granada. But over the years Ive had to learn how to play in weather like that and think its a perfect day.
Granada and Leon were tied for much of the round until Granada birdied 14, 16 and 17 to pull ahead. Both Leon and Grimes found the water on 17.
Leon posted a final-round 78 while former champ Virginia Grimes posted an 81 to place third, and Alexis Rather finished alone in fourth at 16-over 231.
Charlotte Campbell and Laura Coble came in a tie for fifth at 76-76-81--233 +17.
The weather again was a bit of a challenge with strong northerly winds and constant light rain. Players with early tee times had the better part of the day.
