Gustafson Wins Award for 2000 Season

Sophie Gustafson has been selected as the `Players' Player of the Year' for the 2000 season on the Evian Ladies European Tour.
This is the second time the 27-year-old from Sweden has won the award. She first accomplished the feat in 1998, and was the without doubt the clear choice in 2000, as she won for the first time on the American-based LPGA Tour (Chick fil-A Charity Championship), and took three titles on the Evian Tour (Ladies Italian Open, Waterford Crystal Ladies Irish Open and the Weetabix Women's British Open).
In addition, Gustafson was a member of the triumphant European team in the Solheim Cup, and claimed that this accomplishment by far surpassed any individual title she took during the regular season.
So far in 2001, it appears Gustafson is not about to let up, as she has already claimed her second trophy from the LPGA Tour at the Subaru Memorial of Naples.
