Haas Roberts Resume Battle

2006 AT&T ChampionshipThe Champions Tour has its penultimate event this week with the AT&T Championship.
Last year, when it was called the SBC Championship, Jay Haas closed with back- to-back 66s to win by two strokes over Tom Purtzer. It was Haas' second win in a three-week span.
Next week is the final event, the Charles Schwab Cup Championship, where Tom Watson won last year. The battle for the season-long Charles Schwab Cup is more-or-less down to two players - Jay Haas and Loren Roberts.
Haas, who won last week's rain-shortened event in Spring, Texas, leads by 156 points with two events left. Both players are scheduled to play this week.
Also in the field is Fred Funk. Funk is playing in his first 'regular' Champions Tour event. He tied for 11th in the U.S. Senior Open and Ford Senior Players Championship, both majors on the 50-and-over set.
With the top-30 on the money list getting into next week's final event, 42 of the top-50 players on the money list are scheduled to compete this week to battle for those top-30 places.
The Golf Channel has coverage of all three rounds this weekend.
The Charles Schwab Cup Championship is next week in Sonoma, Calif.
