Huskies Hold the Top Spot

College CentralSTANFORD, Calif. -- The Washington men's golf team holds a two-stroke lead heading into Sunday's final round of play at The Nelson at the Stanford Golf Course. Washington carded Saturday's best round, a 6-under 278 to move ahead of second-place Duke. Washington's 36-hole score stands at 11-under 557. Duke trails UW at 559 while Kansas is third at 562.
 
Washington was led Saturday by a pair of 4-under 67s turned in by senior All-American Brock Mackenzie and freshman Alex Prugh. Mackenzie is in fourth place at 6-under 136 while Prugh trails him by one stroke on the leaderboard. Toledo's Brad Heaven owns a three-stroke lead after 36 holes at 10-under 132. Heaven carded a 64 in the opening round and followed that up with a 68 Saturday. Duke's Ryan Blaum and Kansas' Andrew Price are tied for second at 7-under 135.
 
Washington's Dan Potter whot even-par 71 to stand 17th at 2-under 140 after two rounds. Erik Olson shot 73 and is tied for 42nd at 2-over 144. Cody Upham is 71st at 11-over 153.
 
The final round of The Nelson will be played Sunday.
