Keuhne Surprises by Leading Telus Skins

Hank Kuehne shocked the crowd at the Fontainebleu Golf Club north of Montreal, Canada, when he took the lead at theTelus Skins Game Monday over Phil Mickelson, Vijay Singh and John Daly.
The 28-year-old long bomber shot 6-under-par 29, winning five skins and $75,000. Kuehne won the first five skins of the match and the final four were tied. The final nine holes will be played Tuesday with a four-hole carry-over.
The skins game format awards one skin for each hole a player wins. Skins are worth $15,000 each for the first six holes, $20,000 for holes seven to 12 and $25,000 for each of the final six holes. When two or more players tie for the best score, the skin carries over to the next hole.
Kuehne is the PGA Tour's longest hitter but ranks 110th on the money list.
'This year, I spent a lot of time working on my swing during the off-season and it turned out it was going the wrong way,' Kuehne said. 'I feel I'm finally putting the pieces together and things are starting to come together.'
Kuehne started his successes on the fourth hole with a birdie, then eagled the par-5 fifth.
The players scored 18 birdies and an eagle between them.
